Per linear foot
base, crown, chair rail, and running trim
Finish carpentry is priced by the piece, the foot, and the opening, and the margin lives in the details. A house with simple casing and a flat ceiling is a different job from one with built-up crown, coffered ceilings, and a curved stair, even at the same square footage.
Our finish carpentry estimating takes off every piece of trim, every door, and every stair part from your plans and elevations, with labor priced to the profiles and complexity you're actually installing.

Finish carpenters use a few common methods, and the takeoff supports each:
base, crown, chair rail, and running trim
doors and windows, including casing both sides, hanging, and hardware
balusters, newels, brackets, and specialty items
custom built-ins and complex details
We report quantities in all these units, so you can price the way you normally do. If you send your rates, we can apply them directly.
The same length of trim can take very different time:
built-up profiles mean multiple passes
stain-grade needs tighter joints and matched wood
every cope and miter adds time; rooms with many corners are slower
high ceilings mean scaffolding and slower work
trim work multiplies quickly
We count corners and note profiles, so labor reflects the actual work.
